Kreditimi Rural i Kosoves (“MFI”, “KRK” or the “Institution”) is the third largest MFI in Kosovo with a market share of 19.7% (in terms of loan portfolio). The Institution operates through a wide network of 27 branches covering most of the Kosovo territory. As part of its strategic vision, KRK aims to grow sustainably, enhancing its market share and range of services, while increasing profitability and client outreach.
To ensure operational sustainability and growth, as well as to contain potential risks associated with growth, KRK is requesting for proposal for Internal Audit Capacity Building the institution with aim to increase the effectiveness of its internal audit function by implementing the risk-based audit approach.

Terms of References for Auditing of Information Technology
KRK is a Microfinance Institution (MFI), focused on providing financial services to low-income clients, with a particular focus on micro, small, agricultural and other businesses in rural and urban areas, with a priority focus on agriculture and a specific attention to financial, social and environmental sustainability.
In order to ensure good services and to have reliable IT infrastructure, operating systems and software with sustainable functionality in accordance with the business it develops, KRK wants to make an audit of its Information Technology.
The scope of work should cover the following areas;
– Assessment of the IT infrastructure used in KRK;
– Risk Assessment of IT Controls (General IT Controls);
– Assessment of business continuity, disaster recovery plan, backup plan and procedures;
– Assessment of Information Security;
Implementation and timeline;
The auditing is expected to be completed by the 10 April 2024.
The selected company or individual experts, should submit to KRK the written draft report which cover the ToR, no later than 15 April 2024.
Qualification requests;
The company’s or individual experts should have relevant qualification and expertise in IT auditing. Expertise in context of finance/microfinance sector is preferable.
Selection of most convenient offer will be selected based on estimation of the offer in term of ToR, price, expertise of the company/expert regarding IT auditing in finance/microfinance sector, ect.

In the framework of the energy and efficiency program from 2018 to December 2022 in cooperation with GEFF, EBRD and other partners, KRK has managed to influence the improvement of citizens’ lives, the preservation of the environment, the saving of energy costs and development of green technologies with European standards.
Below you can find the amount of credits distributed in the name of the product for efficient energy as well as the impact of these credits in preserving the environment and saving electricity:
• Over €2.3 million in energy-efficiency loans distributed and the following activities were supported:
– Insulation of houses
– Replacement of windows and entrance door
– Solar panels
– Solar panels for water heating
– Heat pumps
– Biomass boiler
– Insulation of the ceiling
– Floor insulation
• Green investments in KRK have had an impact in reducing carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by about 980 tons per year, which is equivalent to removing approximately 613 cars from the roads.
KRK has also contributed to the reduction of energy consumption by 2,850 MWh/year.
